Saturday, May 29, 2021 is Back to Barbeque Day, and is a national call for people to pledge to cook out in celebration of the official kickoff to grilling season. It also encourages individuals to visit their favorite retailer (Fireplace & Bar-B-Q Center of course!) to check out the latest grills and accessories.

While we always encourage year-round grilling, there’s no denying that in the days preceding Memorial Day, many barbecue owners are tuning up their grills for the summer. And while tuning up your grill, sharpen your grilling skills with the following tips from us, your barbecue expert!

1) When setting up your grill, always have a “cooler zone”. This way, if the “hot zone” is too hot, you can simply move the food over to the “cooler zone”. This prevents serving up meat that is burned on the outside and raw in the center.

2) Use the lid! Closing the lid on your grill helps you achieve evenly cooked meat and decreases the cook time.

3) And most importantly, have a good instant-read meat thermometer. Being able to check the meat’s temperature not only helps you serve perfectly cooked food, but also food that’s safe to eat.

From year-round pit masters to casual weekend grillers, Back to Barbecue Day is a special day for all of us to unite around the flame in celebration of our favorite summer pastime. And with more than ½ of all grill owners cooking out that weekend, the week before Back to Barbecue Day would be a great time to visit Fireplace & Bar-B-Q Center to upgrade your grill or add those accessories you’ve been thinking about. We’re here to help you with all of your barbecue needs!
