Every year we send our team members to the Hearth, Patio, and Barbecue (HPBA) Expo. This is the one time of the year that all the suppliers in our industry gather for a week of educational seminars and exhibitions of new products.
This year it was held in Atlanta, GA so we want to let our customers know what was “Hot in Hotlanta”!
Stoll Industries continues to impress with innovative products and stunning finishes and designs. It has been a pleasure to watch them expand beyond just their original rustic designs and into the newer contemporary designs. They’ve also expanded into the outdoor category with aluminum made islands.
We’ve also seen sneak peeks into outdoor fire tables. Stay tuned…we have some pics but aren’t allowed to show them just yet. We are super excited to get these on display soon!
It’s amazing how well gas log manufacturers can replicate real wood. Today’s technology allows manufacturers to create molds that are taken directly from real wood and allows them to cast logs that capture every nuance in real wood. We think the real secret sauce is, however, when a manufacturer sets aside the time and resources to hand paint the logs. Having a person with an eye for the little details makes all the difference in the world. While we saw several fireplaces in Atlanta, it was Kozy Heat’s new Nordik-34 direct vent insert that is going to be a real treat when it is available later this year. We cannot wait for Kozy Heat to officially release this to the public!
If you’ve tried to order a fireplace in the last year or so you may have been told that it will take 3-5 months to get those fireplaces that require electronic ignition. One of our manufacturers is making the move to add an additional supplier to their electronic remote system. This could help speed up the process! Keep in mind…fireplaces with a non-electronic ignition system are available much quicker but have limited functions. Make sure you ask your Fireplace & Bar-B-Q Center expert to help clarify the differences.
If you are interested in knowing more about the new fireplaces and fire tables coming to the market this year, just stop by and see us at 103rd and Metcalf in Overland Park. We love to talk about our business and our industry with our customers.
